Customer Notes & Reminders: Keep Track of Follow-Ups Without Cluttering Your Quotes

By Andrew Hemphill Β· 18 March 2026

Puree now has customer notes and customer reminders that live on a customer's profile β€” separate from the notes and tasks you already use on individual quotes and orders. They're for the things you want to remember about the customer, not the event.

How They're Different from Order-Level Notes & Tasks

Puree has had notes and tasks attached to orders for a long time. Those are useful when you're building or running a specific quote β€” they show up in the event brief, drive automated workflows, and email your team when an order task comes due.

Customer-level notes and reminders are about the relationship, not a particular event:

  • Customer notes β€” anything you'd want every team member to know the moment they open this customer's profile. Allergies, contract terms, "always invoice the head office", "do not contact between 9–5", that sort of thing.
  • Customer reminders β€” follow-ups pinned to the customer. "Check in with Sarah next month about their summer programme", "Phone Ben to confirm next year's date". These never show up on a quote, only on the customer profile and the CRM dashboard.

The clearest way to think about it: order notes & tasks travel with the event; customer notes & reminders travel with the relationship.

Notes & Reminders on the Customer Profile

Open any customer and you'll see three persistent panels above the content tabs: Notes, Tasks, and Memorable (more on memorable events below). They stay visible regardless of which tab you're on.

The full editing surface lives in the sidebar tabs β€” Notes for a rich-text note (formatting, lists, links), and Reminders for a list of follow-up tasks with due dates. Tasks become full Puree task records under the hood, so they also appear on the global Tasks page alongside your automated workflow tasks.

The CRM Dashboard

The CRM item in the main nav (previously labelled "Customers") opens the dashboard that brings everything together. It surfaces:

  • Recent Activity β€” a chronological feed of new customers, customer-note edits, and customer reminders created in the last 30 days, with the user who did each thing.
  • Upcoming Anniversaries β€” 1-year anniversaries of staffed events over $5,000 in the next 30 days. A great prompt to send a "Hi, can't believe it's been a year!" email.
  • Active Enquiries β€” your unprocessed enquiries, both online submissions and manually-logged phone/email enquiries.

Above the panels, you'll find quick-action buttons β€” New enquiry, New customer note, New customer reminder β€” that open slide-overs right on the dashboard. Pick the customer with the search, type your note or reminder, save. You stay on the dashboard.

Memorable Events

A bonus on the customer profile: the Memorable panel shows past staffed events over $5,000 with their next yearly anniversary date. Small detail, but a nice prompt to reach out at the right moment.

No Setup Required

These features are available on every account today. Open a customer profile or visit CRM in the main nav to try them out.

The CRM dashboard has since gained Pending Quotes triage, a Quotes Lost view, and per-reminder email routing β€” see CRM Dashboard: Triage Pending Quotes, Track Lost Ones, and Tick Off Reminders for the full story.
